Kigali Attorneys, Proud Supporter of Privacy Rights and Legal Training at the 4th Unwanted Witness Moot

On 25th September 2025 was held the 4th edition of the Unwanted Witness Privacy Moot Court Competition, at University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). This competition brought together the brightest students from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania to see who would win the prestigious title of overall champion in East Africa’s premier moot court competition on data protection and privacy.

The teams had the opportunity to compete on the legal theme of ‘Safeguarding Personal Data in National Digital ID Systems’. Each team showed dedication, courage and high-quality advocacy a clear sign that a new generation of lawyers is emerging who are ready to defend privacy rights. After deliberation, Ugandan Christian University won the coveted trophy, along with a $1,500 prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to the 7th African Privacy Symposium scheduled to take place in Lagos from 26 to 28 November 2025.
